Since the Biwa is a narrative musical instrument, it is played while narrating (singing). One of the representative Biwa pieces is "Heike Monogatari" (The Tale of the Heike).
Additionally, besides the Biwa, you can also enjoy performances with flute, koto, and watching Shirabyoshi dance while listening to the music.
