The Kata-Yuzen technique is used for dyeing kimono fabrics, originated from the work of Miyazaki Yuzensai, a painter who lived around the Gion area of Kyoto during the Edo period. This technique has been passed down since ancient times. There are two main methods: Hand-painted Yuzen, where patterns are drawn and dyed using brushes, and Stencil Yuzen, where patterns are colored using stencils introduced during the Meiji era. Using various stencils, you will create original eco-bags, tumblers, and book covers.
